More Than Discrimination: The Harmful Health Effects of Ageism

Of course you’re forgetful-- you’re 74! That is an ageist assumption, and there are many others common in our society as well as our healthcare system. Older adults are often ignored or discounted when talking about issues such as pain, depression, and sexual health. This presentation will explore how ageism from healthcare workers can affect the quality of care that older adults receive and consequently their quality of life.

    Home Sweet Home: How Home Dialysis Modalities Can Improve Quality of Life for ESRD Patients

Home therapy dialysis options offer patients a better experience and improved quality of life but is often underutilized.     Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

    CBT-I is the gold standard for insomnia treatment, including for those who take sleep medications. It effectively treats the root causes of insomnia, not just the symptoms, as medication does. This technique is as effective as pharmacotherapy in the short-term, and more effective in the long-term.
